False Creek Womens Dragonboat Team - Coaching

Welcome to the 11th Annual False Creek Women's Dragonboat Regatta!

A regatta designed with women in mind. It's an opportunity to put it all on the line, race hard, have fun and support other women's teams in their quest for speed, fitness and power! Teams have the opportunity to race other women's teams from all over the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Seattle, Portland and more.

CHECK-IN

Each Manager will need to check in on May 24, 2008 8 am - 8:45 am and submit a signed team waiver/roster form prior to racing and pick up your race package. There will not be a captains/coaches meeting prior to the race as many out of town teams are arriving after the regatta has begun. Safety rules will be handed out with your race packet.

GETTING THERE

Take the Skytrain!
We are located just a one minute walk from the Main Street/Science World station.

Take the Bus!
Take the bus directly to the False Creek Women's Dragon Boat Festival by hopping on the #3 Main, #8 Fraser/Downtown, or the #19 Metrotown/Stanley Park. They all stop just outside our front gate. Transit information: 604 953-3333 and www.translink.bc.ca.

Take the Car!
From the east - drive west on Terminal to Quebec.

From the west - drive east on Pacific Blvd. and turn right on Quebec Very limited street parking may be found along Pacific Blvd., Expo Blvd., Quebec & Terminal, 1st and Ontario. There is also a paid parking lot by Science World.

TEAM INFO
  • Tents are not provided – please bring your own.

  • Do not leave your gear unattended at the race site. There is always the possibility of theft in the city.

  • Please car pool as much as possible - parking in the are is limited.

  • A bike path runs through the area so do not stand or walk on the bike path and look both ways before crossing it.

  • Water will be provided at the race site.

  • Food - this year we will have a food vendor at the regatta.  Latte Limo will be onsite all day to provide excellent coffee, lattes, breakfast sandwiches, BBQ, etc. Also the following eating establishments are within a few blocks: Subway, Starbucks, White Spot (at Telus World of Science), McDonalds, Mario's Gelati & Burger King.

  • This year you will be racing in BUK boats – 4 boats per race.

  • There will be draw prizes & costume prizes.
